EXCLUSIVE: Comedian Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams is commanding the court on BET.
The network’s unscripted courtroom series Ms. Pat Settles It premiered on October 18 with two episodes, debuting as the No. 2 show on primetime television for Black viewers as well as Black women in the 18-49 demographic.
The top series? Tyler Perry’s Sistas, which returned with the Season 6 midseason premiere on the same day. The series has been the No. 1 scripted cable series with Black viewers for five consecutive seasons, according to Paramount Global.
After three days of viewing, both series secured a combined average of 3.2M viewers, Nielsen data shows.
Ms. Pat Settles It drew a combined 1.6M viewers across Episodes 1 and 2 (874,000 viewers and 777,000 viewers, respectively), which were simulcast on BET and BET Her. On BET alone, Episode 1 managed 828,000 total viewers while Episode 2 held onto 718,000.
Among adults 18-49, the first episode scored a 0.34 rating across BET and BET Her. Episode 2 took home a 0.28, Nielsen reports.
Tyler Perry’s Sistas is ringing the victory bell after the midseason premiere episode drew 1.4M viewers on BET alone after three days of delayed viewing. The episode also managed a 0.71 rating among adults 18-49. That’s up from the 1.2M people who tuned in for the Season 6 premiere in June, which also managed a 0.6 rating.
The October 18 episode was simulcast on BET and BET Her, overall garnering 1.5M viewers and a 0.73 rating across platforms, L+3 Nielsen data shows.
Two episodes of Ms. Pat Settles It and another episode of Sistas air on October 25 starting at 9 pm. ET/PT on BET.
