After a 146-day strike, the WGA has reached a ratified agreement with AMPTP on a new three-year contract, bringing an end to the strikes.
The joint statement was announced on Sunday evening, September 24 to end the standoff that started on May 2 and exceeded the 100-day run of the 2007-08 writers strike.
SAG-AFTRA continues to strike, after launching a twin strike alongside WGA on July 14 due to the ongoing labor dispute with the AMPTP. Notably, this marked the first instance since 1960 where actors and writers have jointly participated in a walkout.
