2023 WIF Honors Recipients Include America Ferrera, Eva Longoria And Celine Song

America Ferrera, Eva Longoria and Linda Yvette Chavez, and Celine Song and Greta Lee have been set as recipients of this year’s WIF Honors.

The organization, formerly known as Women In Film, Los Angeles and celebrating its 50th anniversary, will bestow the awards at its annual benefit gala November 30 in Los Angeles, it said Thursday.

The five are joined on the full 2023 honors list by Yara Shahidi, who was previously named WIF’s recipient of the Max Mara Face of the Future Award.

Ferrera, one of the stars of this year’s box office behemoth Barbie, was selected to receive the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award for her activism and work with the charities Harness and Poderistas. Fonda, who received the inaugural honor in 2021, selected Ferrera for this year’s award and will present it to her at the ceremony.

The Crystal Award for Advocacy, given to individuals and groups creating opportunities for the advancement of women working throughout the screen industries, will go to Longoria and screenwriter Chávez, who teamed on Longoria’s feature directing debut Flamin’ Hot; and Song and Lee, who wrote-directed and starred, respectively, in the Korean romantic drama Past Lives.

Both Longoria and Chavez and Song and Lee will participate in a conversations about their collaborations.

“The work of this year’s honorees exemplifies outstanding creative vision and the change WIF has worked to create in its 50 years as an organization,” said Monica Levinson and Talitha Watkins, co-chairs of the WIF Honors Committee. “Our industry is better because of these women and their commitment to spurring lasting impact in Hollywood, both in front of and behind the scenes.”

WIF said it is working directly with SAG-AFTRA to ensure strike guidelines are adhered to for the gala benefit, which supports WIF’s educational and philanthropic programs and its advocacy for gender parity in the entertainment industry.
